Holiday Health Tips

HOLIDAY SEASON IS HERE – LET’S PRACTICE SAFE HABITS TO KEEP HEALTHY

Take some of our tips to decrease your likelihood of getting sick!  Even better, share this list with the people around you to better protect yourself from the cold and flu.

Here are some practical tips that we believe will help you avoid sickness:

-Be sure to continue your normal exercise routine during the holiday season including stress beaters like yoga and meditation.

-Regular sleep and good hand washing can prevent many illnesses.

– Start shopping and cooking early. Put as much food as you can in the freezer as to not create additional stress.

– Do not drink and drive. Even being very tired can cause poor driving, so take a rest before driving.

-Before attending a holiday event, have a high protein  in snack  or light meal to curb hunger.

-Mix wine or alcohol with juice, water or Seltzer to decrease calories.

-Be aware of potential fire hazards with holiday decorations and cooking.

-Make sure to cook meat thoroughly  and sanitize all surfaces touched by uncooked meats.

-Keep your holiday focus on the important things- people. They are what make celebrating special.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  1. Moderation
  2. Clean Hands
  3. Sleep
  4. Exercise
  5. Relaxation

I’m guessing all these takeaways sound familiar so let’s get through the season healthy!!!
